Favorite Moment

Favorite moment of Plaza Art Fair Week

I had an amazing time seeing lots of friends and collectors old and new, and the weather couldn’t have been better. But my favorite moment came early Friday afternoon, walking out of the radio station with my good friend and talented artist Lynn Whipple after being guests on the program Up To Date with Steve Kraske on KCUR. Filling our house with awesome!

This our favorite weekend of the whole year. The Plaza Art Fair is here, which means most of our very favorite people from around the country gather in Kansas City to share their artwork. And lucky for us those very talented people choose to spend time at our house! (which means very little sleep but lots of inspiration)

Visit the google map here and click on the stars to see who is under our roof!

(Sorry the code has defeated me this morning or it would be interactive right here on my site, but we were up late solving the problems of the world and I have an art exhibit to put together! Better luck next time)

Plaza Art Fair Time!

I can not tell you how much I love my hometown show! And what a fantabulous way to end my art fair season. If you are in the area I hope you will come by to celebrate with me!

ps: I promoted this image on my  FaceBook page in an attempt to introduce more people to my artwork. I am curious – How do you learn about new artists? How did you learn about my work?

Just a few more…

Today we are making the last of our drive from Portland to St louis.

This is always the most grueling week of the year for us (but we thank our lucky stars that we get to do it!). You might have noticed in last week’s post that we had a show in Portland and then on its heels one in St Louis, and probably thought nothing about it.

But it is those three short days (23 hours in a day when traveling east) that have been lurking in our nightmares for the last few weeks. THREE short days to get over 2050 miles to the location where we will be setting up again tomorrow.

So St. Louis friends you should know, I take cream in my coffee, and feel free to wake me gently if you see me nodding off in my booth.

Perhaps just a few more reminders will sooth our aching seats!

Going against traffic

Being an artist and entertainer means we are usually going against traffic.

And today was no exception, as we turned Ferdinand (the van) towards Portland and passed all the RVs and cars laden with kayaks and bicycles heading out on their holiday adventures, the vacation portion of our trip was officially over and what passes for work begins. Which is to say, we’ve headed into Portland and are getting ready to set up a different kind of tent in a beautiful park where we’ll be over the holiday weekend.
