You know what you call a gay farmer?
David Wayne Reed and I got to know each other while working together in Artist Inc (by working I mean laughing my ass off). And let me tell you he is a talented, brilliant, handsome, and funny guy. And not just any funny. Tears rolling down my cheeks kinda funny. Take well timed sips of my beverage kinda funny. Be mindful of who I sit across from, lest I be wearing their drink too kinda funny. Yep, I mean funny, funny.
So it is pretty easy for me to guarantee that the funniest man I know, David Wayne Reed, will have you in tears in his one man show, Jolly Rancher. Both tearfully funny and poignant, it is a show you can’t miss.
Not in Kansas City?
You will have to wait just a little longer until his book comes out next year. It is already on my Christmas list for 2013 and after you read this excerpt it will be on yours too!

Have you been following the “Buy Personal” series that David Wayne Reed is a part of? If not, you should be!
I am highlighting the people in my creative community, which is comprised of our friends all across the country (and you too Jake). These talented people make things with their hands, write things, record things, perform things. They are the people that make our world interesting. I hope you will consider giving these things and supporting these people this holiday season. When you give the gift of the arts you are giving two gifts – to the recipient and to the maker. That’s a win in my book.
Check out the people I have already featured and subscribe to the blog using the box to the right so you won’t miss any of the awesome people coming up!
