Book Pusher
I’ll admit I have a second love in life after photography. A love that both fulfills and fuels my wanderlust. A love so deep and a desire so great that I have it tattooed on my shoulder. A young love that brought me ridicule. And a love that often keeps me from sleep at night. A love so great I am sharing it with the world on a street corner.

“When I’m ready to make a photograph, I think I quite obviously see in my minds eye something that is not literally there in the true meaning of the word. I’m interested in something which is built up from within, rather than just extracted from without.” — Ansel Adams

“Our language has wisely sensed the two sides of being alone. It has created the word loneliness to express the pain of being alone. And it has created the word solitude to express the glory of being alone.” — Paul Tillich

Reason #2 to host a workshop
As an artist creating work full-time with lots of deadlines, it is easy to get stuck in my studio, stuck in my head, stuck in my way of doing things. It is essential to me (and all artists) that we give ourselves the space and time to play creatively. This is where new ideas come from. This is where we find a new approach to our work. New stories that we want to tell. Often we are not very good at allowing ourselves the space and time to do that, to explore without expectations. Continue reading »
Reason #1 to start a workshop series
I love the gathering of creative people, because it always leads to the exchange of ideas, brainstorming, problem solving, and generally sharing their awesomeness. The traveling I do puts me in touch with such amazing creative people around the country, and leaves me thinking “what would happen if I could get these people under one roof”, “holy shit! what could we create together if we weren’t at this pesky art festival”, or “With this brain trust surely we can figure out how to rule the world.” I want to recreate that potential when we all have the free time to do something with it. Favorite Moment
Favorite moment of Plaza Art Fair Week
I had an amazing time seeing lots of friends and collectors old and new, and the weather couldn’t have been better. But my favorite moment came early Friday afternoon, walking out of the radio station with my good friend and talented artist Lynn Whipple after being guests on the program Up To Date with Steve Kraske on KCUR. Plaza Art Fair Time!
I can not tell you how much I love my hometown show! And what a fantabulous way to end my art fair season. If you are in the area I hope you will come by to celebrate with me!
ps: I promoted this image on my FaceBook page in an attempt to introduce more people to my artwork. I am curious – How do you learn about new artists? How did you learn about my work?
