Thanks for the love, Des Moines!

Last week I participated the Des Moines Arts Festival for my 19th time, and oh what fun I had – it was perhaps the closest this studio artist might ever feel to a rock star! My week included a media tour, leading a workshop, being the featured artist with my artwork on both posters and t-shirts for the festival, and if all that wasn’t enough I even won an award! Thanks for the love, Des Moines – the feeling is definitely mutual!

I’ve just added two of my favorite shows to my 2016 schedule and I am getting itchy feet to get the travel season under way.

While most art festivals in the country limit the work that an artist may show, Des Moines Arts Festival actively encourages artists to continue to grow and explore their art form between the time of application and the opening day of the festival.
